My Story
Kinesiology + Occupational Therapy + Adult Education + Certified Coach
At the age of 16, Hélène had a devastating sport injury that caused her to exit prematurely her promising figure skating career and deal with years of recovery, while her family declared bankruptcy.
Hélène overcame these physical and psychosocial challenges which led her to gravitate towards rehabilitation medicine and adult education.
She has worked as an occupational therapist for over 20 years — facing the challenges of a demanding and stressful working healthcare environment. In 2016, she made an alarming realization that her patients were not empowered to improve their wellbeing by themselves and she was nearing burn out herself managing her practice. So, she started to experiment and adapted her rehabilitation methods while developing new tools with her most challenging patients.
She witnessed first hand the positive impact these techniques and principles had on her clients and her own life, so she shifted her purpose from being a sought-after therapist and clinical lead to supporting individuals with their clinical outcomes and improving healthcare from the inside out.
Leaning on her extensive Academic training and clinical experience, Hélène created an accredited methodology “Dive Into a Coach Approach™” where she trains and certifies healthcare professionals with a holistic framework that combines the best coaching practices, proven leadership skills, strength-based models, and a rich toolkit designed to create lasting results for patients.
Hélène is now a world-renowned speaker and continues to act as a registered occupational therapist and works as a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia. She holds a Master of Adult Education degree from St. Francis Xavier University. She is also a Certified TotalSDI Facilitator, Leadership Coach, Instructional Designer, Virtual Trainer, and a Professional Certified Coach.
When she’s not making waves in the healthcare industry, you can find Hélène skiing with her husband and two kids or playing beach volleyball in the breathtaking province of British Columbia.
